A unique thing about the Five Rivers Metro Parks is its variety of types of parks. It features inner city parks, heavily forested parks, farm parks and formal gardens including Wegerzyn Gardens, a place to view flowers and forest anytime of the year.
Wegerzyn Gardens, situated along the Stillwater River off Riverview Dr. in Dayton, features a Children’s Discovery Garden, formal gardens, bike trails and 6.5 acres for 100 community vegetable gardens.
Until December, ”A Wiggle In Its Walk” , a sculpture of woven willow saplings , will be on display. This structure by artist Pat Dougherty is a 200 foot tunnel which invites the viewer to walk through it.
You can see all that is available at Wegerzyn at the park website.
