Reflections from Dogwood Pond and Cox Arboretum

Images which are a reflection are, more than direct photography, a unique event in that they exist for only an instant and depend on the light, breeze and ripples of water creatures at the moment.

I am attracted to aiming my camera at water to allow it to reveal the surroundings in a different way, to reveal what cannot be seen by looking directly at the scene.

Reflections provide depth by revealing material floating on the surface in addition to the original object.

This image includes both a reflection and the original scene.

  1. Sharing with us your vision
    of these upward reaching arms,
you take our spirit with you.
    We’re embraced by leafy charms.
We join you as you love them
    sharing our creator’s gifts
and sing out their living hymn.
